Development

 

The next step in the HIPAAssociates process is to generate a list of action items for the Privacy Officer, Security Officer, and Transactions Officer, and put them in a Gantt chart format. HIPAAssociates uses Microsoft Project 2000 to generate the plan, and provides training to the practice. The action items are listed by standard, person responsible, are in chronological order, and are linked to predecessor and successor tasks such that the most critical tasks get done first.

All action items are supported with an Action Item List report, which explains how to get started on each task and lists the relevant sections in the HIPAA manual.

HIPAA Manual

Included in the Compliance Manual is a HIPAA reference manual, which contains clear explanations of all HIPAA regulations, delineates responsibilities, and includes model procedures and worksheets.
