Awareness

 

The first step in the HIPAAssociates process is to build awareness of HIPAA regulations through training sessions. HIPAAssociates gives on-site training or invites practice staff to regularly scheduled training sessions. The training gives an overview of the 4 components of HIPAA Administrative Simplification (Privacy, Transactions, Security, and Identifiers), allows time for questions and answers, and includes a quiz presenting staff members with practical situations in which they need to apply what they have learned. The second part of the training covers Security Awareness.

The Compliance Manual, which is part of the Basic Program, includes these training materials in printed and electronic format (Powerpoint 2000) so the practice can conduct remedial training sessions or train new employees.
