HIPAAssociates is a healthcare and technology consulting firm, providing compliance gap analysis, readiness assessment services and planning, and training, focused on healthcare providers and small health plans. Through a combination of education, assessment, planning, and software tools, HIPAAssociates helps its clients assess their readiness and develop a comprehensive plan to implement HIPAA policies, procedures and technologies. HIPAAssociates has worked with a variety of clients in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. Our typical clients are medical and dental offices (practices ranging in size from single to 20 physicians/dentists) and small self-insured health plans.
HIPAAssociates recognizes that healthcare providers, health plans, and their staffs have precious little time to dedicate to HIPAA compliance, and have designed a low impact process that enables us to collect all of the necessary information for our assessment with minimal disruption to the daily operation of your office.
HIPAAssociates has a structured process during which we will do an initial walkthrough and assessment, conduct introductory training, administer a questionnaire, help identify business associates, review existing forms and contracts, generate a compliance report and implementation timeline, and contact your vendors on your behalf to direct them to communicate their HIPAA compliance and provide them with the correct forms. We have also established relationships with system vendors to provide support with regard to electronic transactions, security assessment and other services.
The responsibility for implementing HIPAA rests squarely with providers and health plans as covered entities; they need a combination of training and support to help them understand the legislation, assess their operations, and implement a plan unique to their needs. We believe that our compliance program has the right mix of education, training, and support for providers and health plans to quickly come up to speed on HIPAA while managing the time, resource and cost commitment.
